SILIMER 5091 is based on organically modified polysiloxane technology with PP as the carrier resin. During PP extrusion, the active component can migrate toward the polymer–metal interface, where the initial lubricating effect of polysiloxane, together with the polarity effect of the modified functional groups, helps reduce interfacial friction and improve melt flow through the extrusion system.
At relatively low addition levels, SILIMER 5091 can effectively improve fluidity and processability, reduce die drool during extrusion, and minimize melt fracture (sharkskin). At higher addition levels, it can additionally contribute to lower film-surface friction and improved surface lubricity. It is suitable for improving processing and surface characteristics in PP-compatible extrusion applications.

• Helps improve melt flow and extrusion processability in PP film production
• Helps reduce die drool and melt fracture (sharkskin)
• Supports improved processing lubrication and extrusion stability
• Can reduce film-surface coefficient of friction at appropriate higher addition levels
• Helps enhance surface lubricity and film smoothness
• Provides a PFAS-free and fluorine-free alternative to conventional fluoropolymer PPAs
• Helps maintain film appearance and printability under recommended use conditions
• PP film extrusion
• PP film applications requiring processing improvement and enhanced surface lubricity
• PP film applications requiring lower surface friction
• Other PP-compatible extrusion applications, including pipes and wire & cable compounds, may also be evaluated based on formulation, processing conditions, and target performance
Premix SILIMER 5091 with the compatible base resin at the recommended let-down ratio and process using standard extrusion equipment. The optimum addition level should be determined according to the resin formulation, processing conditions, and target performance.
Recommended addition level: 0.5–2 wt% for improving processing performance and helping reduce die drool and melt fracture; 5–10 wt% when additional reduction in film-surface friction and enhanced surface lubricity are required. The optimum dosage should be determined according to the resin formulation, processing conditions, and target performance.
This product could be transported as a non-hazardous chemical. It is recommended to be stored in a dry and cool area with a storage temperature below 50 ° C to avoid agglomeration. The package must be well sealed after each use to prevent the product from being affected by moisture.
The standard packaging is a Craft paper bag with a PE inner bag, with a net weight of 25kg. When stored under the recommended conditions in the original unopened packaging, the product has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture.
