SILIMER 5090H is a processing aid for polyethylene (PE) extrusion, using PE as the carrier resin. It is an organically modified polysiloxane masterbatch designed to act during processing through the initial lubricating effect of polysiloxane together with the polarity effect of the modified functional groups. During extrusion, the active component can migrate toward the polymer–metal interface and help reduce interfacial friction. At relatively low addition levels, SILIMER 5090H can effectively improve melt flow and processability, reduce die drool, and minimize melt fracture (sharkskin). It is widely used to improve lubrication, extrusion performance, and surface characteristics in PE-compatible extrusion applications.

Can be used in the preparation of PE film, reduce the friction coefficient of the film surface, improve the smooth effect, will not precipitate or affect the film appearance and printing; It can replace fluorine PPA products, effectively improve resin fluidity and processability, reduce die drool during extrusion and improve shark skin phenomenon.
• PE films
• PE blown and extrusion film applications
• PE film formulations requiring processing improvement and enhanced surface lubricity
• Other potential PE-compatible applications include pipes, wire & cable compounds, color masterbatches, and artificial grass, subject to formulation and processing evaluation.
Premix SILIMER 5090H with the compatible base resin at the recommended let-down ratio and process using standard extrusion equipment. The optimum addition level should be determined according to resin formulation, processing conditions, and target performance.
Recommended addition level: 1–2 wt% for replacing conventional fluoropolymer PPAs, improving processing lubrication, and reducing die drool; 5–10 wt% when additional reduction in the coefficient of friction and enhanced surface lubricity are required.
The optimum dosage should be determined according to the resin formulation, processing conditions, and target performance.
This product could be transported as a non-hazardous chemical. It is recommended to be stored in a dry and cool area with a storage temperature below 50 ° C to avoid agglomeration. The package must be well sealed after each use to prevent the product from being affected by moisture.
The standard packaging is a craft paper bag with PE inner bag with net weight of 25kg. Original characteristics remain intact for 24 months from the production date if kept in recommend storage.
