PFAS-Free & Silicone-Free Polymer Processing Aids for Polyolefin Extrusion

In addition to its silicone-based PFAS-free polymer processing aids (PPAs), SILIKE offers PFAS-free and silicone-free PPA solutions as alternatives to conventional fluoropolymer-based processing aids. Formulated without PFAS or siloxane-based additives, these solutions are designed for polymer processing applications that require both PFAS-free and silicone-free formulations.

In polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) extrusion, common processing challenges include melt fracture (sharkskin), die build-up (die drool), high extrusion pressure, melt flow instability, and surface defects. SILIKE's PFAS- and siloxane-free polymer processing aids are developed to help reduce melt fracture and die build-up, improve extrudate surface quality, and support more stable extrusion under suitable processing conditions.

Potential applications include PE blown film, cast film, PP film, multilayer flexible packaging, industrial and consumer packaging, food packaging films, agricultural films, hygiene films, and breathable films. These processing aids may also be evaluated for other polyolefin extrusion applications, including pipes, profiles, wire and cable compounds, fibers, monofilaments, and sheets, depending on material compatibility and processing requirements.
