SILIMER 9201 is based on organically modified polysiloxane technology and uses PE as the carrier resin, launched by SILIKE. During PE extrusion, the active component preferentially acts at the polymer–metal interface, where the lubricating characteristics of polysiloxane, together with the interaction of the modified functional groups, help reduce interfacial friction and improve melt flow through the extrusion system.
At relatively low addition levels, SILIMER 9201 helps improve extrusion processability and stability while reducing die drool and melt fracture (sharkskin). At higher addition levels, it can also reduce film-surface friction and enhance slip performance. This combination of processing and surface-modification functions makes SILIMER 9201 particularly suitable for PE film applications where both extrusion performance and surface properties are important.

• Helps improve PE film extrusion processability and stability
• Reduces melt fracture (sharkskin) and die build-up
• Improves film-surface lubricity and reduces coefficient of friction at appropriate addition levels
• Supports smooth, consistent film surfaces
• Provides a PFAS-free alternative to conventional fluoropolymer-based PPAs
• Maintains film appearance and printing performance
• PE blown film
• PE film extrusion
• LLDPE/LDPE film formulations, subject to compatibility evaluation
• PE film applications requiring both processing improvement and surface-slip performance
• Other PE-compatible extrusion applications, such as pipes, wire & cable compounds, color masterbatches, and artificial grass, may also be evaluated depending on the formulation and processing requirements.
Premix SILIMER 9201 with the compatible base resin at the recommended let-down ratio and process using standard extrusion equipment. The optimum addition level should be determined according to the resin formulation, extrusion conditions, and required processing or surface performance.
Recommended addition level: 0.5–2 wt% for improving processing performance and helping control melt fracture and die build-up; 5–10 wt% when additional reduction in film-surface friction and enhanced slip performance are required. The optimum dosage should be determined according to the resin formulation, processing conditions, and target performance.
This product could be transported as a non-hazardous chemical. It is recommended to be stored in a dry and cool area with a storage temperature below 50 °C to avoid agglomeration. The package must be well sealed after each use to prevent the product from being affected by moisture.
The standard packaging is a kraft paper bag with a PE inner bag, with a net weight of 25kg. When stored under the recommended conditions in the original unopened packaging, the product has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture.
