SILIMER 9406 is a PFAS-free polymer processing additive (PPA) developed by SILIKE for the extrusion of polypropylene (PP) materials. Based on a PP carrier, it is an organically modified polysiloxane masterbatch designed to migrate to the processing interface during extrusion. It leverages the excellent initial lubricity of polysiloxane and the polarity of functional groups to enhance processing performance. Even at low dosage levels, SILIMER 9406 effectively improves melt fluidity and processability, reduces die drool, and alleviates shark skin defects. It is widely used to enhance lubrication and surface quality in plastic extrusion applications. As a safer, fluorine-free alternative to traditional fluoropolymer-based PPAs, Fluorine-Free Polymer Processing Aids SILIMER 9406 supports both performance optimization and environmental compliance.

Description

SILIMER 9406 is a PFAS-free polymer processing additive (PPA) for extrusion of Polypropylene material with PP as the carrier launched by SILIKE. It is an organic modified polysiloxane masterbatch product, which canmigrate to the processing equipment and have an effect during processing by taking advantage of the excellent initial lubrication effect of polysiloxane and the polarity effect of modified groups.

A small amount of dosage can effectively improve the fluidity and processability, reduce die drool during the extrusion and improve the phenomenon of shark skin, widely used to improve the lubrication and surface characteristics of plastic extrusion.

How to use

Mix SILIMER 9406 with compatible resin and extrude directly after being mixed in proportion.

Dosage

Replace PPA to improve lubrication and die drool suggested addition amount at 0.5-2%; to reduce friction coefficient, recommended at 5-10%.

Transportation & Storage

This product could be transported as non-hazardous chemical. It is recommended to be stored in a dry and cool area with a storage temperature below 50 ° C to avoid agglomeration. The package must be well sealed after each use to prevent the product from being affected by moisture. 

Package & Shelf life

The standard packaging is a craft paper bag with PE inner bag with net weight of 25kg. Original characteristics remain intact for 24 months from the production date if kept in recommend storage.
